Revolution BJJ Named Best BJJ Gym

Revolution BJJ Named Best BJJ Gym By the Author of this Article

Every year, social media becomes a battleground of Best Pizza, Best Coffee Hut, Best Snow Machine-Accessible Brunch Spot, and, of course, Best Martial Arts Gym contests. The rules are simple: whoever gets the most people to click a button wins. Democracy at its finest.

So, in the spirit of these online accolade Olympics, I’ve decided to create an award of my own. One far more prestigious, far more exclusive, and completely impervious to vote brigading. The process was rigorous, scientific, and entirely based on my personal opinion.

And the winner of Best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gym goes to…

REVOLUTION BJJ

This distinction is based entirely on firsthand experience, careful observation, and the extremely advanced rating system I’ve developed (which consists of me deciding things).

1. Quality of Instruction

Some gyms have black belts. Revolution BJJ has teachers, an important distinction. These are instructors who can break down techniques and concepts into bite-sized pieces you can actually digest without choking on confusion. Whether you’re just learning how to shrimp or polishing your inverted guard, the guidance is clear, technical, and provided to you as an individual and a learning student, not the hypothetical, world-renowned champion we all daydream about being.

2. Community Strength

Revolution has built a genuinely supportive community — the kind where you can train hard, ask for repeated demonstrations, and still get invited back. Everyone’s friendly, nobody’s trying to reenact an MMA highlight reel during warm-ups, and you can actually tap without someone giving you a lecture afterward.

It’s a room full of teammates who clap for your first submission with the same enthusiasm they’d give you if you won Worlds. That’s rare. The place is packed with people who show up, work hard, support each other, and still manage to stay fun.

These qualities earned the gym major points in my evaluation system, which I can assure you is incredibly consistent and not at all based on gut feelings.

3. The Culture

A lot of gyms talk about safety, respect, and inclusivity. Revolution actually delivers on that promise. Beginners don’t get smashed, smaller people don’t get ignored, and women aren’t treated like some kind of jiu-jitsu novelty. It’s a place where you can train hard and walk out in one piece—physically and emotionally.

There’s a rare balance of being a place where people seriously improve without taking itself too seriously. Classes run smoothly, the curriculum is structured, and even on tough nights, the atmosphere stays positive.

4. Availability and Programming for Every Level

Fundamentals. Advanced. Competition Level. Kids Classes. Advanced Kids Classes. Judo. Boxing. Open mat. Everything has been considered and covered. Revolution has structured programs that actually progress, meaning you don’t just roll for an hour and hope you magically absorb technique through osmosis. Whether you’re brand new or deep in purple-belt existential dread, there’s a class that meets you where you are.

5. Vibes

There’s something about walking into Revolution that feels right. The mats are clean, the people are welcoming, and the energy is dialed in that perfect spot between competitive and chill. You can train like a monster without being surrounded by monster energy.
It’s a gym where you can push your limits without losing your soul—or your ACL.

Final Words

Revolution deserves to be recognized as a top BJJ gym.

Because it earned it.
Because the people earned it.
Because the instruction, the culture, and the environment aren’t marketing—they’re reality.

If you’re looking for a place with great instruction, solid people, and a training environment that doesn’t make you question all your life choices, this is it.

It was such a praise piece, I felt the need to prove it was not Garrett sitting at his computer writing this up.
Vanessa wrote this and takes ownership of all statements made above. You'll often see Vanessa taking photos and videos of classes and events. She brings her two kids to BJJ classes several times a week, and very frequently says she'll start training, too, but still has yet to follow through.
